So, I’m not really sure what’s going on here.
In 2024, my grandad Malcolm died. He had a heart attack at work. I inherited his storage unit.
I dropped the ball a little bit, and I hadn’t even visited the locker to get stuff and clear it out until earlier this month. The storage place contacted me and said his prepayment would expire at the end of Jan 2026, and I either needed to pay up or move everything out. So I took a new years trip to the locker, put everything in my van and brought it home.
My grandad wasn’t a super interesting guy honestly – worked a lot, didn’t really have any hobbies or friends to speak of. So I wasn’t expecting anything interesting, and, for the most part, there wasn’t. But I did find a few boxes of what looked like work papers.
These papers are weird. They range from the 70s to the early 90s, or at least the ones I’ve actually looked through do anyway. They detail weird experiments and things that the company he worked at did. The place was called Signal Kinetics Industries, and these documents are full of stuff about broadcasting and signal manipulation, and a bunch of other stuff I’ve never even heard of.
I’m going to be uploading scans of everything as I go through it in more detail – but there’s boxes and boxes of this stuff. It all seems pretty fucked up honestly. If anyone knows anything about SKI or any of these ‘projects’ that I’ll be archiving, please get in touch at [email protected]
